So, you purchased your tungsten ring and are wondering what could happen if you do some minor changes to the ring, like, say, an engraving. Your initial thought should be nothing. Rightfully so. However, you may run into some retailers who may find some serious issue with you getting your ring engraved. They may boast claims of you destroying their beautiful, structurally sound ring. Don’t believe their claims.

Lifetime Warranty Badge

When deciding where to purchase your tungsten carbide ring from, be sure to review their warranty. Most retailers should make that information readily available. Simple fact is that not all tungsten carbide retailers are created equal. The reason a retailer may find so many faults with such an innocent and common thing as an engraving is simple to the point where the retailer is claiming your warranty may no longer be valid is that those retailers already know that their rings are of an inferior quality.

These retailers tend to have rings made of low grade tungsten carbide and they know that within a year a customer will have problems with their ring and will try to fall back on their “lifetime” warranty. These retailers concoct as many excuses as possible in order to avoid having to honor their warranty. The silly thing with voiding a warranty because of an engraving is that about 50% of Americans get their tungsten ring engraved. Moreover, most people get their wedding band engraved as it serves as very memorable and irreplaceable part of the memory of your wedding. As you may have realized in your wedding band shopping, because of its phenomenal look and durability, tungsten carbide rings are quickly becoming a natural choice for wedding bands. Because of this reality, it is only natural that tungsten rings would be engraved as the wedding band is an extremely sentimental item.

When shopping around for your tungsten carbide wedding band, pay attention to the warranty you will be receiving as part of your purchase. Your ring will be extremely durable. Do not let retailers fool you into believing that something as minor as an engraving will ruin the integrity of your ring. If these claims are being made, it’s likely that the quality of ring you are purchasing is very poor. This could simply be a way out of these retailers from honoring your warranty.
