Spring 2016

My goal in life is to be a 4th grade teacher. I have wanted this for as long as I can remember. This year I even got an internship at an elementary school so I can get some classroom experience before going to college. This internship does make my schedule a little crazy, but it has shown me an inside look at teaching and what they actually do. It’s not as easy as I thought, there is a lot data and testing kids even in elementary school. Although it’s a lot of work, it’s exactly what I want. I have even volunteered as a coach for volleyball and swimming just to learn more about children and what they like and don’t like. Also in high school I took ap psychology, this gave me a look at the brain and how it develops which was very good to know when working in the elementary school. I also know it will give me a head start in college, taking ap classes such as psychology, language, literature, and statistics. Being prepared and ahead of the game has really helped me get ready for college and my life after. Although life never goes as planned, being ready helps me plan for when something doesn’t go right.

As much as I love children and teaching, the second thing I love the most is weddings. I would love if my summer job could be as a wedding planner. I am very organized and patient, which are great qualities in planning weddings. Wedding bands are my favorite thing by far. I love how engagement rings look and how many different styles they are. There is a band for everyone … I love wedding bands so much, because you can customize your own ring to fit who you are. Another huge thing I love about weddings is the flowers! They always make a wedding come together. They set the color, tone, and theme of the wedding. Personally I would want either blue or purple at my wedding and use them for table settings, bouquets, and put them all over the alter. Although the rings and flowers help make the wedding every girls dream, the dress is what really tops the cake. I’m pretty sure I have picked out 100 wedding dresses since I was a kid, imagining the perfect dress. Which I think most girls do, but I know when the time comes I’ll find that one again. As much as I love wedding, they happen only once in your life, for most people.
